Many people use music as a stress reliever. Some may have
specific artists they listen to because it helps them relax. My therapy is Bon
Iver. Bon Iver is a band that was founded in 2007 by American singer-songwriter
Justin Vernon. Other members of the band include Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and
Matthew McCaughan. “Vernon released Bon Iver's debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago,independently in July 2007.” Justin Vernon recorded the first album in
Wisconsin secluded inside a cabin for about 3 months. Initially, Vernon fled tohis father's cabin because he wanted to clear his head, but he ended up creatingan album.
Bon Iver has released two studio albums, and several
singles. They have collaborated with several other artists and contributed to
the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. Currently, they are touring in New Zealand and Australia
and they will be in the United
States in April 2012.
Bon Iver is a band that many may know, or may not know. They
have a unique sound that doesn’t necessarily follow music theory. I enjoy this
band because they do not play for others satisfaction; they play because music
is important to them. In my opinion, music sounds better when the artist puts
their entire heart into the music.
ABC News interviewed Bon Iver at Sound Fix Records in Brooklyn, NY after his recent in-store performance at the Sound Fix Lounge. The interview was uploaded to Youtube on March 31, 2008 by soundfixrecords
